Arrival in Moscow at 11:20 local time, followed by passport control and meeting with our guide. We begin our program with a panoramic Moscow city tour. Among the places to be seen are the historic Red Square — the scene of political and social upheavals — the fascinating St. Basil's Cathedral with its colorful onion-shaped domes, the Kremlin Palace, the Bolshoi Theatre, Tverskaya Street, Gorky Park, Novodevichy Convent, Swan Lake, Luzhniki Stadium, Lenin Hills and finally Moscow University, all seen panoramically. After the tour, transfer to our hotel and free time. Later, guests who wish may join our optional Moscow Metro & Arbat & Nazim Hikmet's Grave tour. Started by Stalin in 1931, the Moscow Metro — though compared today in size with the New York, Paris or London metros — is universally acknowledged as the most beautiful metro in the world in terms of interior architecture and decoration. Arbat Street, running through the middle of Moscow, is a pedestrian street that everyone who comes to this city visits at least once, strolling with pleasure from one end to the other. Here you can browse the colorful shop windows, taste the finest examples of Russian and world cuisines, sit in elegant cafes that rival those of Paris, and — most enjoyable of all — sit on a bench and watch Russians going about their lives. If you want a souvenir of Moscow, this street is the right place. After our tour, return to the hotel, free time and overnight stay.
